Logitech G Pro Wireless Review – Lightweight Wireless Mouse

As you read this Logitech G Pro wireless review, you will see that simplicity in a gaming mouse is better all the time. And by simple, we mean that this mouse has only a few buttons, has only one RGB lighting zone and there are no additional features such as adjustable weights and stuff.

While Logitech gaming mice are known for their dashing and flashy looks, the G Pro wireless is quite humble. But looks can be deceiving, so you should still expect this mouse to pack quite a punch with its features, which we will explore later in this article.

Logitech G Pro Wireless Review introduction

This is a high quality mouse. You will love the seamless operation of the mouse by all counts. For a wireless gaming mouse, you will see that it is pretty fast as well.

Like its bigger and more pompous sister the Logitech G903, the Logitech G Pro wireless is an ambidextrous gaming mouse. Smile if you are a leftie like President Obama because this mouse is made to be used by both left-handed and right-handed people. You only need to change the orientation in the software.

With features like onboard memory, long battery life and a DPI range of between 100 and 16000, this gaming mouse is going to give you the best value for your money. If you are an avid gamer, you deserve a mouse that meets all of your expectations without having all those unnecessary flashiness.

Bottom Line

The Logitech G Pro wireless mouse has a high DPI range of 16000 which gives the sensor superior tracking power. This mouse comes with unmatched accuracy, zero lag time and onboard memory to save five game profiles. Logitech gaming software is easy to use even for beginners.

Design and build quality

Logitech G Pro Wireless Review Design

From the first glance, you will think that this mouse looks quite bland, perhaps bordering on boring. However, while it does not have the style and snazzy outlook of many other gaming mice, it is still a nice mouse, with a light feel to it.

This mouse feels quite light in the hand. However, do not mistake that as a sign of poor quality. On the contrary, this is a great gaming mouse and with good care, it can last a long time.

At 4.9 inches long, this is a good size for you if you have big palms. You can play for a long time without cramping your wrist. At the widest point, the mouse is 2.5 inches. As for the weight of the mouse, it has 80g – give or take a little. It is amazing that such a big mouse can have such a small weight. You will have a “light” time pushing it around.

The wireless receiver stays out of sight because it is located away at the bottom of the mouse.

The shape of the mouse is indeed pleasing. It is ergonomic in design. It may not look like a supercar with flared out bottom, but it is nice. While it looks like an ordinary office mouse, it feels great in the hand. It is both comfortable and offers the user a good grip.

Performance

Most people worry that their wireless gaming mouse will not perform the same as a wired mouse. However, that is not entirely true. With a high polling rate of 1000Hz, this mouse is going to communicate its position to the computer 1000 times every second, and that is as high as it gets.

The sensor is very vital in enhancing the performance of the mouse. In any Logitech G Pro Wireless review, you will see that this mouse has a HERO optical sensor, which is a gaming-quality sensor. This is a very accurate sensor and if you set the DPI just right, you will enjoy just how fast this mouse performs.

Since you may also use this mouse in wired mode, the performance of the sensor is not affected in any way. Compared to other gaming mice, this mouse outperforms many of them.

The HERO sensor is combined with the high performance Lightspeed wireless connectivity technology. True to its name, whether you connect the mouse to your computer through the USB dongle or through the wireless receiver, you will see that this mouse is quite fast.

The “”fastness” of a wireless mouse is determined by how low the latency is. Latency means the delay in transmission of data or signal. Thus, in this case, the mouse has a very low latency. This means there is no noticeable delay between the time you click a button and the time the command is displayed on your screen.

The mouse has nice feet that glide nicely on just about any surface, except glass. However, for better performance, you should invest in a nice gaming mat.

Buttons

The lack of too many buttons on this mouse may be a bit discouraging for some people. However, while the buttons are not crammed into one space, something that makes the other gaming mice look discouragingly crowded, they are there all the same. This mouse has 8 buttons!

On either side of the mouse, you will find two buttons. The reason for mounting buttons on both sides is to make the mouse truly ambidextrous. Thus, whether you are left or right-handed, you will find a lot of joy in using this gaming mouse. The buttons serve the same purpose – forward and backward. However, it is always advisable to remove the buttons that you do not need so that you do not click them by accident.

But we said that this mouse has 8 buttons. Here, we have looked at the four side buttons as well as the right and left click buttons. Where are the others? This is where things start getting interesting. On the bottom side of the Logitech G Pro wireless gaming mouse, you will find a small button.

This is for the DPI adjustment. While you may not adjust the DPI setting when a game is in progress, well, it is still nice to have. I guess by now you have already guessed that this mouse does not have a DPI button beneath the scroll wheel.

The last button, to make them eight, is the scroll wheel. That is all. There is no sniper button. The mouse is that simplistic in design.

Battery life

This mouse comes with an inbuilt rechargeable battery. Logitech say that the battery can last 60 hours. That is a matter of debate. They say that without lighting, this battery can go for about 60 hours and when you have the lights and the frills on, it will do 48 hours. While the lighting is not all that much, you can see that it still does consume some of the battery.

The software

This, as they say, is where all the magic happens! Ok, it is not the greatest gaming mouse software in the world, but it more than meets your needs. First, you can assign your buttons different functions in the software. It is easy to use and does not need you to be a whizz kid to figure things out.

You may also change the orientation of the mouse, that is, from left hand to right hand and vice versa. You may also create macros and set up to five game profiles. You can then save your game profiles on the onboard memory. That way, you will not need to install the software again when you use the mouse in another computer.

You will also be able to set the polling rate to something fast and manageable. While the maximum is 1000Hz, in most cases, you will not need it to be that high. There are options, starting from 125Hz up to 1000Hz. Choose what you feel will be most appropriate.

In the software, you may also set the DPI, from 100 to 16000.

Price

If you read a well-written Logitech G Pro wireless review, you will see that the price of the mouse starts at $150 onwards in most online marketplaces. Well, this is high, but then with a few exceptions such as the Corsair Harpoon RGB, wireless gaming mice cost is within this price range.

With features such as mechanical springs and button tension, incredibly strong yet light skeleton, a HERO sensor and many more, this is a great mouse for the money.

Conclusion

There is no doubt that Logitech makes some of the best gaming mice in the market today. Having seen all the features and benefits in this Logitech G Pro review, you know that you would love to lay your hands on it. You will get good value for your money when you buy this gaming mouse. Sometimes, a mouse such as this one is all that it takes to turn you from just a gamer to a great gamer.
