It has not been more than a year since the launch of the K50 and K40, and today, the South Korean company presents the LG K5Ss and K40S. The new mid-range models arrive as successors to the models presented during this year’s Mobile World Congress, with features that are mostly identical to those of the K40 and K50. The model that interests us this time is the K50S, whose main difference from the cheapest model is the triple camera, the size, and the battery.

DESIGN: KEEPING THE LINES IN A LARGER SIZE
We find few differences in the LG K50S at the design level compared to the K50. Despite the increased device size, both devices’ lines are virtually identical.
With a body made entirely of polycarbonate with MIL-STD 810G protection against drops and scratches, the K50S has a 6.5-inch screen with HD+ resolution and a 19.5:9 ratio, a screen that is accompanied by a notch in the shape of a drop of water, which helps to obtain even more profitable margins, if possible.
For the rest, the terminal maintains the rear location of the fingerprint sensor and the arrangement of its cameras, which become three this time.
SAME? HARDWARE WITH LITTLE NEWS
Regarding technical characteristics, the company has not given many details about aspects such as the processor model or the graphics unit. The specifications speak of an eight-core Mediatek processor at 2 GHz frequency, specifications that match those of the Mediatek Helio P22 processor that we already saw in the LG K50.
This is accompanied by 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, expanded via SD cards of up to 2 TB. The rest of the features comprise a 4,000 mAh battery, a micro USB connection, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and WiFi a/c.
THE TRIPLE CAMERA REACHES THE MID-RANGE OF THE LG
The raison d’être of this LG K50S is precisely its camera, or rather, its cameras. Although the manufacturer has not given many details about its features, it is known that it has three independent sensors at the rear of 13, 5, and 2 megapixels.
While the 5-megapixel sensor has a wide-angle lens, the 2-megapixel sensor uses its functions to calculate objects’ distances to improve the photos’ depth. For its part, the front sensor consists of a single 13-megapixel camera with an unknown focal aperture.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY OF THE LG K50S IN SPAIN
As usual in this type of launch, LG has not given details about the availability of the LG or its price. If we look at the data of the LG K50, the terminal could be launched in Spain for a price of 199 euros at the time of its release, although we will have to wait for official confirmation from the company.
