The vivo _ Vivo’s objective of establishing itself and making itself known in Spain also needs to include good mid-range models, and that is the market niche in which the model object of this analysis is located. Below is my experience with the vivo X80 Lite after three weeks of regular use as a personal mobile phone, both for work and leisure purposes.
Unlike its older brother, the X80 Lite is a rather elusive mobile phone for the average user since it is only available for sale in Spain through three telephone operators: Orange, Simyo, and Jazztel. All of them have offers for their clients ranging from 240 to 336 euros, but anyone who wants to buy the free terminal without any connection with the company in question will have to turn to Orange, where it can be obtained for 450 euros. Now, it’s time to get down to business and comment on everything this Vivo smartphone offers.

PREMIUM STRAIGHT-LINE APPEARANCE
The details in the presentation are very careful when it comes to vivo, and the first impression that the X80 Lite gives when opening the box is that we are looking at much more than a mid-range mobile. The aesthetic section is one of the strong points of this model, which in Spain is only available in its diamond black version. The back has a layer of fluorite glass with a diamond pattern that is pleasant to the touch and does not leave fingerprints marked, so the feeling of its finish is more than positive. The frame is made of aluminum – fingerprints will be reflected there – and the grip is good, although its straight lines can make many users notice some discomfort (it can be considered the toll for wanting to look like the iPhone).
The rear camera module does not protrude excessively, being completely hidden as soon as a protective case is placed on the mobile phone, something to be appreciated for those who do not like bulky cameras. On the front, the edges of the screen are quite visible, and the front camera appears integrated into the screen in the shape of a drop. This design is becoming less common but does not bother excessively when browsing the Internet or using applications.
SCREEN WITH HIGH LEVEL OF BRIGHTNESS AND IMPROVED SOUND
The screen of the vivo _ With 1,300 nits, there is no problem when viewing the screen when the sunlight is at its maximum, and it is perhaps one of the best features of this mobile. The 90 Hz refresh rate also ensures optimal fluidity when using apps or sliding the menu from one screen to another.
With the speakers, the X80 Lite returns us to the harsh reality that we are not looking at a high-end mobile phone. This model only has one speaker, which is quickly appreciated when watching a video horizontally. Users who use their mobile phone vertically while lying down will end up completely covering the speaker with their chest more than once, so for a complete user experience it is advisable to use good wireless speakers. The phone has Bluetooth 5.2, so at least the connection with the headphones will compensate for the disappointment of not having two speakers.
SMOOTH, HASSLE-FREE PERFORMANCE
When using the vivo X80 Lite daily, there is no limitation in using the most common applications. This model incorporates the MediaTek Dimensity 900 processor. Although it does not offer the powerful features of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 of the vivo X80 Pro, its operation is more solvent even with demanding games. There has been no episode of overheating or jerking throughout the testing process. However, Vivo is not targeting the ‘gamer’ audience with the X80 Lite, a target audience that it could address with its iQOO brand.
A CAMERA FOR VIDEOBLOGGERS
Before we point out that this mobile phone is not aimed at the biggest gamers but at ‘influencers’ and lovers of social networks, the camera plays a very important role. The striking thing about the vivo X80 Lite is that the best camera features are not found on the back of the terminal (64 megapixel OIS main sensor) but on the front. Its selfie camera has 50 megapixels, so for users who like to fill their social networks with selfies and vlogs, here is a model designed for them.
The rear camera’s performance also offers very good results in high lighting conditions, achieving a high level of detail even in very small objects. The reaction level of the X80 Lite‘s autofocus is also quite efficient, allowing detailed photographs to be taken more quickly than other models.
For darker conditions, the camera has a Night mode. This mode not only provides greater contrast to the photograph but also provides extra darkness, making a sky that is not yet completely dark appear almost nocturnal.
The camera of this vivo mobile also has modes that we are already used to, such as high resolution (in this case, it reaches 64 megapixels ), which allows us to appreciate in great detail aspects of photography that are very far away from the position of the one who takes it. These two images show the possible enlargement we can expect when using this mode.
Portrait mode also allows us to highlight the figure of the person we are taking a photo of, thanks to the bokeh effect that blurs the background so that it loses prominence in the snapshot. The camera’s ability to discriminate what to blur can be compromised by people or objects directly behind the photograph’s main lens, as seen in these two images.
Finally, the camera also allows you to take photographs with the ultra-wide-angle and macro sensors, although its features are quite modest. The macro lens is only two megapixels, so you can’t expect wonders.
As for video, the main camera supports 4K resolution at 30 fps, while the front camera reaches up to 1080p at 30 fps. Beyond these technical considerations, what stands out most about this vivo mobile is the stabilization system, which allows you to record good quality video blogs.
CORRECT CONNECTIVITY, WITH A REWARD IN THE FORM OF A MICRO-SD
The connectivity of the Yes, it is appreciated that in this mobile we find a ‘slot’ for a micro SD card, which will allow increasing the internal storage if necessary. In the box, we will also find headphones with a jack-type plug and a USB jack adapter, allowing us to use them on our mobile phone even if it does not have an input port.
PRICE, OPINION AND CONCLUSIONS
These are the most notable features and experiences lived during almost a month of intensive use as the main mobile phone of the vivo X80 Lite 5G. Except for its only speaker, the final sensations have been positive, both when using applications fluently and playing casual or slightly more demanding games. It seems like a model capable of lasting a few years and offering good performance, although its price of 450 euros may be high for someone who does not want to be tied to any telephone operator to get it.
