Although it is not as well known in Spain, the Vivo brand has been well-positioned in the Chinese market for years. Its main trump card is not high-end terminals but mid-range ones, with more affordable prices for “on-foot” users, who are not staunch followers of the top and most renowned mobiles on the market. If you want an affordable phone at a price level that meets the most common functions of a terminal, I will tell you about my experience with the Vivo Y72 5G with a 64MP camera.
This phone is priced at around 300 euros, and we have had the opportunity to test it. We tell you all the details!

A SET OF CAMERAS WITH GOOD RESULTS FOR DAY-TO-DAY PHOTOS
One of the main attractions of the Vivo Y72 5G and 64MP camera is precisely its set of cameras, which gives good results for day-to-day photos. Our cell phones have replaced cameras, so having a device that provides us with quality images for our memories and social networks is one of the first features the user notices.
In this sense, the Vivo Y72 5G complies, although with some possible improvements. Let’s see what this means and what real results can be obtained.
The triple rear camera has a 64-megapixel main camera with an aperture of f/.179, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens (f/2.2), and another 2-megapixel macro (f/2.4). Added to this is the 16-megapixel front camera (f/2.0). How does this translate into the quality of the images?
Well, with good lighting, both day and night, the images are of great quality and sharpness, something that changes in interiors that are not so well-lit or if there is additional lighting, such as a lamp or street lamp. On the other hand, the 64-megapixel option does not allow zooming, so its use is quite limited; The same is not the case with the panoramic mode, which offers quality snapshots, especially for landscapes or group photos; and that is also presented as a good function to take photos from another angle, more original.
It must be clear that the macro mode (Bokeh on the camera) is designed to capture images at close range. If not, the result is a blurred image. It is not excessively useful either, despite the level of detail at short distances, and, after having tested it in various scenarios, it does not offer very valuable images. In any case, when photographing texts, as long as it is done from 4 centimeters away.
As we said, the camera of the Vivo Y72 5G by itself and using the autofocus of the 16MP camera, gives good results, as can be seen in the example images that accompany the text, in which it is also appreciated that there is a large margin improvement in illuminated interiors, or concert photos, for example. However, by digging a little deeper into the camera options, the result can be optimized since it is easy and intuitive to use: you just have to “touch a little” without reaching the level of an expert.
The main options of the camera are “night,” “portrait,” “photo,” “video,” and “more” It is in this last drop-down where the option of 64 MP, panoramic, and other utilities such as the camera can be found. Fast or slow motion for videos.
In addition, the camera has many editing possibilities, from putting different filters to custom frames, or choosing the photo size, so the results will be enough for your posturing sessions on social networks.
If we go to the front camera, we will see that it also takes selfies at that height. For a mobile that does not reach 300 euros, these qualities may be adequate for the “common” user. You can take beautiful photos to remember, capture day-to-day moments, and share them on your networks or print without a problem. But we are not, in any case, before a device with professional results as far as the camera is concerned.
PHOTOS TAKEN WITH THE VIVO Y72 5G AND 64MP CAMERA
A BEAUTIFUL AND ELEGANT DESIGN
The Vivo Y72 5G and 64MP camera measures 2.75 mm in width and 193 grams in weight. It has a shiny appearance, which gives it that sophisticated air. The rear cameras are integrated into a metal edge, contrasting with the brightness of the rest of the mobile but maintaining harmony. It is a light and thin device that is easy to handle and not heavy.
These bright but soft tones are since it is covered by “a silver and frosted layer,” and they change, depending on the incidence of light, enhancing the range of gradient colors in the Dream Glow model, which is one that we have tested. The edges have a purple hue.
This device is also available in Graphite Black, thanks to the “silver ion coating,” bringing more depth to the classic black.”
If we turn the phone around, we see that it has a central notch, the hole in which the front camera is located, and that the margins are thin, especially on the sides. It also features a side fingerprint reader.
CORRECT SCREEN ON THE VIVO Y72 5G AND 64MP CAMERA
The screen of this phone is a 6.58-inch FHD+ Incell, with a resolution of 2408 x 1080 (FHD+). It offers good, clear image quality and good color saturation, which will make the experience of Watching videos, for example, good and does not tire the eyes. The brightness is not a problem either.
It is a device that uses screen space well, with a screen-to-body ratio of 90.6%. However, we have already mentioned that it has a notch in the center front, where the camera is located, which is not to all users’ tastes. The frames are thin, although somewhat more accentuated in the lower and upper parts. It is worth mentioning that, despite carefully storing the device, it is a screen that remains, more than we would like, specks or pinches, meaning it must be cleaned frequently.
The refresh rate of the Vivo Y72 5G is 60Hz, which for some more advanced users might seem insufficient, and which is far from the 120Hz of its higher-end brother, the Vivo X60 Pro.
LONG-LASTING BATTERY WITH UPGRADEABLE FAST CHARGING
One of the things that I have been able to verify after my experience with the Vivo Y72 5G is that its long-lasting 5000mAh battery is long-lasting. With a full charge and using the phone regularly, taking videos, photos, accessing Google Maps and the most common applications, the battery lasts without a problem.
Everything will depend, in any case, on the use you give to your terminal, but, as we said, if it is not for professional use, the battery can perfectly hold more than one day of charge on a normal vacation day, in which the Selfies do not stop, you will look for an address more than once, you will upload images to social networks and a long etcetera.
On the other hand, the phone has a fast charging speed of 18W, which is not very powerful. What does this mean? We will need more than an hour to fully charge our terminal, so if we are in a hurry… We will have to wait.
A PROCESSOR THAT DEMOCRATIZES 5G
The Vivo Y72 5G has a MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor, which is mid-range; however, it incorporates some improvements to cheaper but quality phones, which allows 5GÂ connectivity to be brought to terminals like this one. Something to consider, especially for the future, and if you are not one of those people who change phones every five minutes.
Finally, this phone with the Android 11 operating system has software that stands out for a simple and clean interface, with intuitive touch controls that make it easy to use. It comes with some applications already installed, such as Facebook or TikTok, and is guided by Google patterns, with its main services on the main screen and easily accessible.
Finally, the phone is available in only one version: with its 8GB, perhaps it falls short in RAM for a phone of its price, and it has 128 GB of internal storage, expandable with a micro SD card.
PRICE AND OPINIONS
The Vivo Y72 5G with a 64MP camera is priced at around 300 euros on the seller’s official page but with slight variations depending on the sales area. Taking advantage of some offers, the final cost can be around 250 euros; a correct sum for a functional phone will meet the expectations of less demanding users who are only looking for an optimal terminal for day-to-day without spending a fortune.
Its battery that lasts whole days, a camera that is sufficient for an average user, and a design that stands out for being beautiful and elegant would be the strengths of this Vivo phone.
