The recent rise of TikTok to the detriment of Instagram has caused a flight of influencers to the video social network. The reason for this flight is, on the one hand, the possibility of monetizing the content directly from the application without having to resort to intermediaries. On the other hand, the application’s algorithm rewards established profiles and accounts that do not have as much percussion. These two factors have led users to question video monetization on social networks. The most common is how much TikTok pays per 1,000,000 visits in 2021. We see it.
THIS IS WHAT TIKTOK PAYS FOR 1 MILLION VIEWS ON A VIDEO
As with other platforms that allow us to monetize content on the Internet, estimating a figure based on the number of views of a video depends on many factors. And like YouTube, the price TikTok pays users depends on the geographical location, the number of ads shown and their duration, the type of product shown, and the interaction users carry out.
Based on these parameters, it is well known, for example, that the price that advertisers pay to advertise on both YouTube and TikTok is higher in countries such as Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Likewise, the content nourished by products that can be advertised in the application (fashion, accessories, technology…)Â has a higher degree of interaction on the part of users, generating a greater conversion and, therefore, a greater profit.
Even with all these variants, the figure that some influencers and specialized media release is 2, 3, and 4 euros per 100,000 visits. We can deduce, therefore, that the amount that TikTok pays for one million views varies between 20 and 40 euros, a much lower amount than what platforms such as YouTube or Vimeo offer to content creators. On the other hand, the reach of the videos within the application is usually greater, as is the visibility of the profiles and, therefore, the ease of obtaining followers.
HOW CAN I MAKE MONEY WITH MY TIKTOK VIDEOS?
To monetize TikTok content, the platform has created a program called Fund for Creators that we can only access if we convert our account to Professional and meet a series of requirements. As of the date of publication, the conditions that TikTok imposes on creators are the following:
- To be over 18 years old.
- Accumulate more than 100,000 followers.
- Have more than 100,000 views in the last 30 days.
- Post original content according to TikTok’s community guidelines.
If we meet the requirements, we must access the Profile tab, specifically the application settings. Next, we will click on Manage account and then click on Change account to Pro. After selecting the content category, the application will convert the account to Professional.
Now, we will only have to click on the Creator section and finally on Fund for Creators to send the request with the data required by the application, such as the DNI, the tax address, or the VAT rate. If we are subject to active VAT, we must invoice the application monthly with the payments that TikTok has issued in our name to be accountable to the treasury through registration in the RETA, the Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers.
